Field Service Engineer (Experienced/경력직) – ALD / EPI
Location: Icheon, Korea (이천)
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer at ASM, you will be responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of our advanced PEALD and ALD equipment at customer facilities. Based in Dongtan & Pyeongtaek, this role requires a high level of technical expertise, hands-on experience, and customer communication skills. You will play a key role in ensuring our systems meet customer expectations and maintain optimal performance in a cleanroom production
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, relocation, and upgrade of ASM equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose technical issues and resolve hardware/software and process-related problems in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance according to ASM protocols.
- Interface with global technical support teams to resolve complex escalations.
- Provide user training and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
- Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain accurate service documentation (e.g., install status, service reports, handovers).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of field service experience in semiconductor capital equipment, preferably in PEALD, ALD, or CV
- Solid understanding of: vacuum systems and gas delivery, electromechanical schematics and diagnostics, microprocessor-based control systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Fluent in Korean, proficient in English (verbal and written).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on PEALD/ALD/EPI
- Experience supporting Samsung, SK Hynix, or similar semiconductor fabs.
- Experience in system ramp-up, commissioning, or tool relocation.
