Job Purpose:
IT Manager -Digital and eCommerce is responsible for leading and managing company’s digital initiatives including Chanel.com, eCommerce and social commerce allowing us to continue to innovate for complex problems for Chanel Korea.
To do the job, he or she will need to partner with business stakeholders to plan, implement and support broad range of Digital transformation & Innovation projects in the context of CHANEL Brand Image. Also, the role needs to be active in seeking out ideas on Chanel’s innovation framework and continue to re-define new Business models including Chanel.com integrating Social & E-Commerce to provide connected experience for clients.
The person needs to possess unique combination of attributes. The person needs to have great understanding of the digital platform services landscape as well as digital commerce landscape. The person must come with significant experience in multiple disciples, including IT/Strategic planning, IT operations, supply chain and distribution, CRM, eCommerce solution, Vendor management, Project management & Change Management.
The person should have experience building momentum and aligning multiple constituencies within large organizations by extensive collaboration with the business stakeholders and external vendors to support the digital & eCommerce initiatives. As a main contributor of .com and eCommerce, he/she has the credibility to build the right dialog with Business and work as a partner with the Regional IT & Global IT teams.
This position will also be responsible for managing demands, budgets, resources, and timelines while aligning business priorities with internal, external resources and tech feasibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Omni-Channel
- Be focal point of contact to Regional & Global digital counterparts to drive continuous evolution of .com
- Provide local insight focusing on technical feasibility within the current architecture and flow that we have and manage the execution of global digital & eCommerce projects.
- Be responsible for such activities – assessing technical feasibility for business requirements including customer journeys, coordination with agency and consultant, development assistance both for local customization as well as the core build, end-user-testing coordination, and technical performance management.
- Collaborate with the business team to ensure business requirements match the end-results.
- Coordinate the change management for the initiative amongst local IT (for systems) and business (for processes) to deliver the Omni channel experience for customer.

- Liaise with Global team & Regional core teams (Enterprise Architecture, Customer, BI/Analytics) to drive implementation with change management in collaboration with the core teams
- Drive E-service implementation working with 3 divisions (in-country) together with the regional team
- Support the day-to-day operation on technical aspect of Chanel.com working with the core teams, with anticipated tasks such as eCommerce site performance management, business change request management, 3rd party service management
Budgetary and Performance
- Make recommendations for service improvement plans and ensure actions are followed through to completion to a timely manner
- Manage and monitor market innovation budget as required
- Responsible on budgetary forecast for in country
People management
- Attract, retain and develop right talent to build and maintain high performing team
- Be able to Influence cross functional teams in order to achieve the KPI/objective of the given tasks
Personal Specifications:
Academic / Professional Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- MBA/MA preferred
- PMP or Prince 2 certification preferred
- Agile Scrum Master/Design Thinking expert
Working Experience:
- At least 10+ years hands on experience in Retail systems with successful implementation references
- Experience in an international context and culture
- Working as a consultant for a recognized firm is a plus
