As a key link between Ipsen and healthcare professionals, the medical representative works strategically to increase the awareness and use of Ipsen products. Medical representative may organize group events for healthcare professionals, as well as working with contacts on a one-to-one basis.
The process of selling involves contacting physicians and healthcare professionals with services and information that will enable them to use and prescribe Ipsen’s product safely and effectively. , identifying their needs, and persuading them that Ipsen products (rather than those of competitors) can best satisfy those needs within compliance and ethical behavior
- The ideal candidate will be capable of managing the territory and administrative requirements in an efficient manner, and will achieve full compliance with drug laws and regulations
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
Reach or exceed sales targets
- in units and in value, assigned for the territory, complying with Korean legislation (KRPIA), Ipsen ethical code, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act (PAA)and Ipsen commercial policy
Increase awareness and use of Ipsen products
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and supporting administrative staff
- Have perfect knowledge of product attributes, mechanism of actions
- Keep up to date with the latest clinical data supplied by Ipsen, and interpreting, presenting and discussing this data with health professionals
- Ability to handle scientific information with a commercial objective
- Keep detailed records of all contacts
- Monitor competitor activity and competitors' products
- Attend company meetings, technical data presentations and briefings
Demonstrate field force excellence and execute with precision:
- Attain the designated goals for calls on appropriate healthcare professionals to communicate balanced, accurate, and complete information on Ipsen’s product.
- Execute calls on Physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals in order to provide product information and to assure the availability of Ipsen’s product in the territory. Engage in in-depth conversations with physicians and other healthcare professionals utilizing multiple data sets across a broad base of approved product indications. Navigate through complex organization structures including hospitals and healthcare communities.
- Manage the territory in an efficient and orderly manner, ascribing to principles of key physician/account prioritization, daily call reporting. Develop and execute effective business plans.
- Demonstrate completion of administrative requirements including budget management, log-ins, expense reports etc. within timelines and company guidelines.
- Operate the territory within the assigned expense budget.
- Complete all required training courses and continually updates product knowledge.
- Comply with all laws, regulations and guidelines including KRPIA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals as well as comply with all Ipsen’s standards and policies relating to all job activities (Ipsen Code of Conduct, KRPIA, Global Directive on Interactions with HCPs and HCOs).
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understand and address managed care issues within the territory.
- Identify and develop Subject Matter Experts within territory.
Experience / Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- Ideal: Sales experience in Uro-oncology and Pediatric endocrinology area.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in sales in pharmaceutical industry
