The People team plays a crucial organisational role in Shopee by channeling important resources to key functions in the company. People are key to Shopee’s growth, and as our business expands, so does the need to develop and support our employees.
Job Description:
- Take ownership of the end-to-end talent recruitment process that involves requirements understanding, talent pool defining, sourcing, screening and selection of right senior talents
- Maintain and build close partnerships with business stakeholders and leaders to build and support talent acquisition plans; understand deeply about why we are hiring, who we are hiring for, how we are going to hire, and provide expertise and assistance to stakeholders for recruitment-related issues
- Create, build, and maintain robust networks of potential passive talent candidates to fill future anticipated and planned roles
- Develop and implement HR programmes and initiatives to achieve the business strategy, with specific focus on Organisation & Talent Development.
- Ensure that our HR policies and practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as the Group’s internal policies and guidelines. Review, maintain and update HR policies and processes periodically, and identify potential areas for further improvement.
- Work closely with People Team Lead - Korea & Japan to align and drive overall HR strategies and initiatives as a senior member of the team. Provide support in payroll and C&B related operations and projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of professional HR experience, preferably in a multinational company or technology industry.
- HR experience must have both Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner roles or experience.
- Possess a strong expertise in Korean labour laws, preferably holding a Certified Public Labour Attorney licence.
- Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking and analysis, experience consulting on complex issues with multiple dimensions to assess.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment with uncertainty, managing multiple simultaneous priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with fluency in both Korean and English. Japanese is a plus but not required.
