Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities.
This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in the areas of medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense, and aerospace, as well as research and development.
We are presently seeking a Senior Business Development Manager that will work closely with the Country Sales Leader and Global Business Line Team to customize strategic initiatives and drive the business plan, including pricing strategies, portfolio mix, and demand forecasting with the objective of outperforming the competition, gaining market share, and achieving profitable revenue growth.
Main responsibilities:
- Generate leads by collaborating with the Business Line Team to identify potential prospects and implement profitable growth strategies aligned with the company's strategic initiatives in the assigned regions.
- Oversee project development to ensure projects are on track, and make necessary adjustments to ensure success.
- Build strong relationships with the global Business Development Team and local Business Line Team to regularly share market and competitor information, facilitating discussions on business development opportunities and challenges.

Communicate effectively with the Business Line Team to ensure professional support for customers and close monitoring of prospects.Gain customers insights
i. Gain customer insights
ii. Gather and understand customer requirements related to performance, quality, and delivery
iii.Secure orders
iv. Prepare and provide all necessary reports as required by Management or other stakeholders -
Carry out due diligence on competitors and gain customer insights:
i. Create the value chain of the associated business
ii. Review competitors' pricing strategies
iii. Benchmark ourselves against competition and establish cost competitiveness
iv. Identify key stakeholders within customer organizations who could influence business decisions
v. Establish Excelitas’ positioning and value proposition against competitors
vi. Recommend and influence the Business Line Team on the current product mix and develop competitive pricing strategies
vii. Conduct regular market and customer analyses, including updates on competitors - Consolidate product demand against forecasts and identify discrepancies to adjust supplier deployments, business strategies, or go-to-market contingency plans.

Utilize the company's CRM software to maintain accurate and timely updates of customer profiles and opportunities:
i. Ensure the customer database is maintained in the CRM system, including editing data to support marketing activities
ii. Regularly and accurately update opportunities in the CR - iii. Utilize the CRM to track progress of action plans and resolve business issues in a timely manner

Participate in exhibitions as required.

Make every effort to maintain reasonable gross profit margins on all sales orders.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in sales development and management.
- Experience in IR lamp, microwave, and UVLED sales is preferred.
- Experience in sales development and project management.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English for effective customer communication and management.
