Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, BT to join our team. You will be responsible for design, development, integration & maturity of WiFi®/Bluetooth® Combo chipsets and system solutions that provide the technology to make wireless local area and personal area networking a reality. You will provide radio frequency, baseband, system and complete software support to OEMs and system integrators utilizing Synaptics WiFi®/Bluetooth® Combo chips to enable the wireless sharing of electronic devices. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, R&D Software.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Partner closely with system, software, and firmware engineering to drive feature development
- Lead debug of issues with the multifunctional team members that are reported by internal SVT or external customers
- Working directly or indirectly with tier 1 customers to understand their requests, abstract generic resolutions, and design and deliver a solution to meet or exceed customer’s expectations
- Provide expertise on technical issues surrounding Bluetooth technologies
Competencies
- Ability to develop Bluetooth features on the Android platform, including AOSP integration, HAL layer development
- Good at Linux device driver and user application
- An in-depth understanding of WiFi/BT coexistence is a plus
- Excellent debugging and analytical abilities
- Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal, including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly to both technical teams and non-technical partners at the appropriate level of detail
- Ability to work with dynamic, geographically distributed teams, with the passion to become part of cross-functional teams as necessary
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment to complete projects on time with minimal guidance
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Resourceful and able to solve complex problems through adaptation of existing technology and investigation of new technology to resolve complex problems
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent
- 12+ years of experience in embedded firmware development
- Track record of developing embedded firmware preferably for WiFi/BT devices
- Solid experience with Bluetooth/BLE Profiles, Host Stack, HCI, Controller Stack
- Strong experience with BT/BLE Spec up to the 6.1 host and controller standard
- Work experience with Android/Linux/FreeRTOS a plus
- Minimal travel based on need (once or twice a year)
