ABOUT US
Pickle is building the future of human connection, starting with your AI clone.
In a world where reach is abundant but depth is rare, we’re rethinking how people express themselves and form meaningful relationships. Our goal is ambitious: to give everyone a living, human-like digital clone that can think, speak, and feel like you, so you can scale who you are, not just what you do.
To make this real, we are training our ultra-low latency interactive avatar model, and building products that capture your personal context across devices. Your clone learns your voice, knowledge, preferences, and workflows, then acts with good judgment on your behalf.
We’re a small team of builders, designers, and researchers backed by Y Combinator, NFX, Krew Capital, and BASS Ventures. We move fast, work hard, and care deeply. Our culture is built on intensity, imagination, and long-term craftsmanship. We believe this is the start of a new era where the digital self becomes an extension of the human self, and we’re here to shape it from first principles.
Our mission is to help people scale strong ties by scaling the self.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Pickle is looking for a Hardware Engineer based in Seoul to design, prototype, and ship the hardware backbone of our first AI Glasses product. This is not another gadget; it is the device that will make real-time AI clones feel alive, natural, and human.
You will join our newly established Korea team, working at the intersection of electrical engineering, embedded systems, and product design. As one of the first engineers in Seoul, you will play a key role in taking AI Glass from research concepts to production-ready hardware.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Architect, design, and test AI Glass across EE, embedded, mechanical, and OS. You do not need to cover every layer on day one. Own at least two now, and grow to lead the full stack as we scale.
Drive board bring-up, firmware integration, and debugging of custom systems.
Work hands-on with cameras, sensors, wireless modules, and low-power MCUs to enable real-time multimodal AI on-device.
Collaborate with embedded and software engineers to optimize latency, power efficiency, and system reliability.
Define and improve development workflows for prototyping, testing, and iteration.
Partner with product and design teams to ship devices that feel lightweight, intuitive, and truly human.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Deep technical expertise in one or more areas: Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded OS.
Strong academic background with an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field from top institutions such as Seoul National University, KAIST, or POSTECH.
Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, and debugging hardware systems.
Proficiency with C/C++ and hardware debug tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
Passion for wearables, AR devices, and AI-powered hardware, with a drive to build the world’s first AI Glass.
A relentless problem-solver who thrives in high-ambiguity environments.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in fast-moving, cross-disciplinary teams.
NOTES
Full-time roles include a 3-month probation period. (If applicable: Compensation and benefits remain the same during probation.)
