Position Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Hours of Performance: 0700 to 1700 hours, Monday through Friday.
Location: Osan Air Base, 51st Medical Group.
Qualifications:
Education: Must have completed formal training program to allow full, unrestricted practice as a LVN/ LPN from a US jurisdiction.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or the American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Experience: Minimum of two years full-time experience in care coordination, discharge planning or case management in a medical setting within the last four years as a LVN/LPN.
The Contract HCW shall be able to communicate in the English language at a proficiency level of a native speaker (as demonstrated by Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score greater than or equal to 850, which was obtained within the last three years and as exemplified in their written and verbal skills in the performance of their duties under this contract.
The English test (TOEIC) requirement will be waived for individuals who are native English speakers.
Specific Duties/Tasks:
- MHS GENESIS, ASIMS, AIMWTS, and PEPP
- Performs administrative quality reviews of Duty Limiting Conditions (DLC), physical examinations, profiles, and appropriate clearances before these documents are forwarded/leave the MTF.
- Assists the analysis, interpretation, and application of medical standards to include waiver actions.
- Represents medical standards element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- Contract personnel shall ensure all records are returned to the appropriate location as defined by the MTF within a timely manner.
- Performs established medical principles, practices, requirements, procedures and regulations and their application in a military health care setting primarily for active duty members as they relate to the specialized practice of Flight Medicine.
- Perform assessment of member’s health status IAW DoD requirements. Identification of patients that required special medical and management; comprehensive collection of patient information and medical status; and continued evaluation of an established plan of care.
- Provide and coordinate detailed consultation services and advice to, and gather information from health care professionals, paraprofessional personnel and non-medical personnel.
- Schedule and Check in patients for appointments, including front desk administrative duties, obtaining vital signs, check in and basic history of present illness
- Complete medical record documentation and coding and designated tracking logs and data reporting as required by local MTF/DHA/DoD instructions, policies, and guidance.
- Complete all required electronic medical record training, MTF-specific orientation and LVN/LPN training programs.
- Shall have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and must become proficient in the use of the following computer systems: MHS GENESIS, Aeromedical Services Information Management System (ASIMS), and the electronic medical record systems that may eventually replace these computer systems.
- Shall have a working knowledge of medical privacy and confidentiality (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act [HIPAA]), and accreditation standards of Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and The Joint Commission (TJC).
