Overview
This position is with Defense Health Agency, United States Army Medical Department Activities, Directorate of Nursing Leadership Unit, located at Camp Humphreys, Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
Travel Required: Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 5% of the time for this position. Relocation expenses reimbursed: Yes—You may qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses in accordance with agency policy.
Responsibilities
As a Nurse (Clinical/Obstetrics/Gynecology) you will:
- Provide specialized obstetric and gynecologic nursing care to adolescents/adult women throughout the age spectrum and their newborns.
- Provide care for women requiring low to high-risk ante-partum, intra-partum, postpartum, and gynecological care as well as competence in newborn and couplet care.
- Administer oxygen, IV fluids, amnioinfusion, blood products, and prescribed medications.
- Serve as subject matter expert and consultant for nursing staff and healthcare teammates in other areas of the hospital.
- Recognize life-threatening conditions that require immediate attention.
- Serve as Charge Nurse on a rotational basis.
- Maintain lines and dressings in accordance with infection control policies and procedures, and discontinues invasive lines as guided by policy.
- Assist anesthesia providers with placement of epidural catheters and induction of general anesthesia.
Qualifications
US Citizenship required
Must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Possession of a diploma, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program and at least one full year of professional nursing experience as an Registered Nurse.
