On behalf of our client, we are hiring a senior commercial leader to drive market entry and growth across Japan and South Korea. This individual will develop key partnerships, close complex deals, and scale transaction volumes across the digital payments and financial services space. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, market-building, and results.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial strategies for market entry and revenue growth in Japan and South Korea
- Build and manage strong relationships with key enterprise clients, platforms, and financial institutions
- Lead negotiations and close high-impact commercial agreements aligned with company goals
- Grow transaction volumes through new and existing partnerships, with a strong track record of scaling activity above USD $10M
- Collaborate with product and tech teams to tailor solutions for local market needs and regulatory requirements
- Represent the company at industry events, while gathering market intelligence to inform strategy
- Option to build and lead a high-performing local team as business scales
Requirements
- 8 to 10+ years of commercial or business development experience in payments, fintech, or cross-border remittances
- Demonstrated success in bringing in and managing high-volume enterprise accounts
- Strong network and experience in Japan and/or South Koreas payments or tech ecosystems
- Excellent negotiation skills and executive presence, with comfort engaging C-suite stakeholders
- Independent, data-informed, and strategic thinker with an eye for scalable commercial opportunities
- Native-level fluency in either Japanese or Korean, and proficiency in English
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
