Job Description Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Lead Sourcing Specialist to join the GE Power Systems Korea team, responsible for procurement and supply chain execution for power plant equipment—especially HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) modules and related components. This role emphasizes localized sourcing, supplier development, and cost optimization for non-globalized commodities. Key performance areas include cost deflation, EAC (Estimate at Completion) tracking, Bowler metrics, BCC (Best Cost Country) sourcing, and cash flow support aligned with GE’s annual operational goals. The position involves daily collaboration with global sourcing teams, and requires independent ownership of short-term deliverables while staying aligned with GE Vernova’s global sourcing framework.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Execute sourcing strategies tailored to commodity categories specific to HRSG module fabrication, including but not limited to pressure parts (e.g., headers, tubes, harps), casing and structural steel (e.g., module frames, platforms, supports), piping materials (carbon and alloy steel), consumables, packaging materials, and transport structures such as shipping frames and skids.
- Promote supplier panel development and cost-saving initiatives to achieve deflation targets and improve sourcing KPIs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and project teams to address daily sourcing challenges and deliver value through continuous improvement.
- Support new product development (NPI) and engineering projects by identifying and qualifying alternative suppliers and fostering supply chain flexibility.
- Coordinate closely with global and regional sourcing leaders to ensure timely material availability, quality compliance, and productivity gains across the supply base.
- Lead supplier negotiations with a focus on strategic alignment, total cost management, and risk mitigation.
- Conduct supplier assessments in line with GE’s sourcing and compliance standards, ensuring sustainability and operational reliability.
- Review and evaluate commercial proposals to select optimal vendors based on cost, quality, capacity, and delivery performance.
- Develop and lead cost-out strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders, influencing contracts and enabling long-term savings.
- Manage procurement-related risks proactively, take ownership of issue resolution, and drive escalation handling where necessary.
- Monitor supplier performance using key metrics and lead supplier improvement initiatives to elevate overall sourcing efficiency.
- Communicate key sourcing initiatives and performance updates to senior stakeholders, supporting both tactical execution and strategic planning.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, Minimum of 5 years' experience in Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain and/or Commercial
- Experienced commodity manager, advanced experience and demonstrated years in Sourcing & Commodity management.
- English spoken.
