Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize cloud-based data processing pipelines for EEG and other neurological data, including data upload, transformation, storage, and retrieval.
- Develop and maintain backend services, including user authentication, account management, billing, and payment processing.
- Implement and improve inter-regional cloud communication for real-time data synchronization and processing.
- Optimize system performance and ensure high availability, reliability, and security of cloud-based services.
- Collaborate with front-end engineers, data scientists, and medical researchers to develop seamless end-to-end workflows.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FDA requirements).
- Automate deployment and monitoring through CI/CD pipelines, logging, and real-time analytics.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and relational/no-SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar).
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
- Strong knowledge of algorithm design, data structures, and distributed computing concepts.
- Familiarity with security best practices in cloud-based applications.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in healthcare IT or medical device software development, especially working with standards like HL7, DICOM, or FHIR.
- Experience in real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Apache Pulsar).
- Hands-on experience with machine learning model deployment and optimization for commercial use.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
- Strong understanding of ETL pipelines and large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for AI-based medical devices (FDA, CE, MDR, etc.).
- Experience in technical product management (PM) or product ownership (PO), particularly in cloud-based SaaS products.
- Ability to define product requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, business, and clinical teams) to align technical development with business goals.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira, Confluence for backlog management and sprint planning.
- Proven ability to prioritize features, manage roadmaps, and drive development cycles for complex software products.
- Experience working with medical professionals and translating their needs into scalable software solutions.
