Transportation manager is responsible to:
- Create and facilitate the relationship with the appointed Freight forwarders & Customer broker
- Support the Global and Regional Transport Leads in regards to business implementation for new projects world-wide where orders are flowing through Korea (Direct or Drop shipped)
- Design, Manage and make long term plans for Korea Transport organization, aligned with the Global Transportation roadmap
- Drive monthly performance review with Freight forwarder and identify all risks on service / productivity
- Drive, supervise, and monitor SOP (Standard Operation Process)’s for the Service providers (International & domestic freight forwarder, customs broker) and Transportation team
- Assess Monthly the Analysis of Change related to logistic cost to ensure the productivity
- Build up a business case for transport flow changes to maximize opportunities for improvements
- Monitor daily inbound and outbound operations (Schedule planning, Expediting, trouble shooting)
Tight collaboration and alignment with:
- Country Logistic / Regional Transportation team / Commercial team / Indirect Procurement team / Country Finance / Regional Supply Chain Planning / Hub Asia & Hub EU Transport team
- Degree in transport / freight forwarding / logistics management and/or information systems technology and management related to freight forwarding & logistics.
- 8 to 13 years of professional experience in the transport / freight forwarding / logistics field and/or experience in information system technology management related to freight forwarding & logistics.
- Logistics/ 3PL industry know-how and background, conversant with commercial processes and operational viabilities. An understanding of the markets, key competitors and up-to-date with trends and challenges of the sector.
- Experienced in project management- well-versed in logistics operations, and able to generate and adapt creative solutions and implement them efficiently. Competent in quality control.
- Strongly customer focused, with a track record for building long-term partnerships and growing market share.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, strong team player.
- An independent performer, he/she must be motivated and resilient, with an ability to deal with difficult clients and deliver.
- Willingness to travel and an international outlook, working across cultures.
- Fluency in English required.
